Welcome to Treadway Language Arts! Be prepared to work hard and learn stuff. I love my job and hope you always feel welcome in my class.

Here is what you can expect (more or less) each quarter/term:

1. Between 6-8 Reading Responses. These are due weekly on Tuesday (Workshop 1 and 2) or Thursday (Workshop 3 and 4).

2. Daily Word Work/Vocabulary (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). These are turned in in batches for grading 2-3 times per quarter.

3. Major Assignments. These might include projects, essays, narrative writing, etc. You can expect 1-2 of these per quarter.

4. Reading Log. This is a record kept by you, the student, of the books/pages you have read. Turned in one time per quarter, usually the day before the end of the term.

5. Miscellaneous. Smaller quick write assignments, grammar exercises, etc. You can expect 1-2 of these per quarter.

So, in all, between 13-16 graded assignments per quarter. It is a lot, but you can do it! Daily effort and practice are critical for success and I want you to be successful.

Parents, your student ALWAYS has homework: Read at least 20 minutes every night. :)
