Weekly Update for October 22-26

Congratulations on an outstanding Mega Crew!

Reading

Rotations combined with Mrs. Blanchard's crew are now underway. Last week's focus was Reading Foundation Skills. Students are enjoying learning how to decode difficult words.

Language Arts

We wrapped this term up with peer critique and revisions on our informational paper. Students know and use similes and metaphors.
Our Expert Bird essay is getting underway and most students have researched many great facts to include in their paper.

Expedition

Fieldwork to the Eccles Wildlife Education Center was terrific! Students were able to test the water and observe the habitat. They also identified birds such as the Great Blue Heron, the Red-winged Blackbird, Black-necked Stilt, Coots, Mallards, American Pelicans, and others which we are still learning.
